It's amazing and totally baffling to see people who have such an all-encompassing irrational fear of firearms. Knowing that this mentality permeates their life in other areas, it makes me wonder how they have survived as long as they have.

No matter what you may have been led to believe, sheer stupidity knows no limits.

When I heard that all I could think of is that maybe she has a home in/around the Pawnee Grasslands where there were people shooting towards homes a few years back. Then I saw it was in Oregon. Methinks she watches too much television.
