ATV Owners: Who has a plow? Looking for recommendations

While I will likely be waiting until Fall to make the purchase, I'm looking to purchase an ATV plow.

My ATV has a winch already so that's taken care of, but there are lots of options out there. I'd like a plow that I can articulate left or right, but I don't need power articulation. Do these plows have springs in case you hit uneven sidewalks, etc.?

My question to those of you with experience with these: What do you recommend?


ETA: If it matters, have an 02 Arctic Cat 500 Auto.

I have a plow on an older Bombardier ATV. The plow works well and articulates manually with the removal of a pin and only takes a minute to change the plow angle. The plow is lifted by the winch and it rides on small circular adjustable skids. The plow rides up based on those skids and and it's designed to pivot up and down with gravity based upon the surface.

The ATV is a 500cc Traxter and is designed as a working ATV more than a recreational. I am not sure of the plow and it came with the ATV when I purchased it used several years ago.

Go with the top mover we sold at the shop. Few if any complaints or come backs on them, simple bolt on unit. The manual unit buyers were 80% returns for a winch install after a few good snow storms.

I have a Blackline 6' plow on a 2001 Kawasaki Mule. It has power lift and manual angle adjustments. There is a power angle kit available but I haven't bought it. I have a big plow on my pickup so I don't really wanna put more money into it. The Blackline is a quality piece of equipment but it's the only one I've ever used. I'd certainly have no reservations in recommending the brand. Having said that, if you have the option for a power angle, do it. It might help you get out of some jams and the ease and convenience are worth it.

My Blackline will trip if the snow load gets too heavy or if I hit something solid.

I do a lot of trail riding on my ATV. Always sliding off rocks and such. I'd like one that doesn't have a bunch of brackets bolted to the bottom of the frame. I have an older machine (1996 I think ) so finding a mounting kit might be difficult.

Call me on Tuesday Ray... I have a couple of blades in stock, and can get mounting kits from the mid 80s to current. Most of them use 1 fairly low profile mount that preserves the ground clearance. The piece that really messes with the clearance is the lift lever assy, but that ceases to be an issue if you use a winch to raise and lower the plow.

I have a Warn on mine. It is indeed spring loaded so it gives when you hit a joint or something harder than you intended.
