Please tell me this isn't anyone on the board...
Read this a few minutes ago and a few things stood out (mind you, I wasn't there, so I don't know all the details): Apart from the obvious lesson which is maybe a gunfight isn't the answer to an argument; maybe walking away would have been more effective, the other thing that occurred to me is that the other guy (or the bad guy) has a say in the fight too. He will probably fight back, unlike a paper target. He will probably try to grab the gun, or punch me, etc. The lesson I am taking is I need to start working grappling and weapon retention drills... start working on position and making space.

A coffe-throwing spat may have been what led to a man being shot in the hand Friday at a Safeway parking lot in Monument.
Mark Brady, 61, was arrested Friday night after the shooting, which happened around 3:40 p.m. at the Safeway at 624 Colorado Highway 105, said Lt. Steve Burk, a Monument Police Department spokesman.
Two men began arguing in an aisle inside the store, and the confrontation spilled into the parking lot where one man pulled out a handgun and, after a struggle for the firearm, appeared to shoot the other man in the hand, Burk said.
Police were trying to piece together the details around 8:30 Friday night, Burk said, but they've heard stories that both men threw coffee at one another before the victim was shot. The victim drove himself to a doctor, Burk said.
Brady was expected to be charged with second-degree assault.
