LOL, I had actually taken into consideration the cold weather could give a bad first impression.

I KNOW you're a MMM reader and are secretly ashamed at what you just said!

What do you guys know about the Trek Fuel EX5? I'm a fan of Trek bikes, and it looks like a decent entry level full suspension setup. I'd like to start saving up for something better, and these look to be around the $1k-1.5k price range.

    Got this in a trade..

My item $40 value. 2002 Giant Rainier, allegedly has a bent front rim, but it's hard to tell, needs a chain and front brake pads. The fork is an air fork, and definitely needs recharged. Do these types of forks just take a shot of regular compressor air, or is it something a shop would need to do?

While the bike needs some clean-up, a tune, and a couple parts, it's a good step up from the Trek 3900 I have, which will likely go to the wife. Hopefully I can get this thing squared away, as it's exactly what I'm looking for to get started in the MTB world.

Nice score. Don't use a regular compressor on that fork! You just need a shock pump that is for bikes. All those other parts are easy fixes and it is riding season

Good to know, glad I asked, I probably would have just ran by the gas station and started filling lol. Hoping these brakes take standard pads that are still being used today, trying to cross reference part numbers and such could be a pain.
