Replaced the pedals on my bike with some obnoxious yellow pedals, I'm digging it. Bike is going to need a front hub rebuild soon, and I still haven't gotten these front brakes dialed in, although I'm not sure that's possible with the hub the way it is.

Well, my bike was stolen last night. Very frustrating to say the least, I didn't pay a lot for the bike, but it was $800 new, and I put a good amount of elbow grease and "upgrades" on it. Guess I'm on the search for a cheap replacement.

Snapped a spoke on my rear wheel the other day, it wore an 11-32 rear cog, replaced it with a wheel sporting an 11-34 cog, wow what a difference. From my research online, some (mostly flatlanders) seem to prefer the 11-32, but I like the 11-34 ratio better so far (especially pulling a trailer).

Each gear should have a tooth count stamped on it, you'll be able to tell which gear was changed out for the 34. Sounds like you didn't need to add a link to the chain to accommodate the larger gear.

Didn't have to add a link, and the rear derailer was still at a reasonable angle. Was more of an experiment than anything, and it worked out.

Anyone have a Rocky Mountain Bike (the brand)? Thinking about upgrading from my 18 year old Trek in the spring to a Fusion 29.

They are good bikes. I used to have a Slayer and you can't go wrong with them.
