The one issue I keep running into is that I want to keep our home secure from the bad guys, but I also don't want it to be too difficult for us to vacate/firemen to respond. Does that make sense? We've already had one fire. If we have bars on the windows, for instance, how long will it take to escape? Will a special film on the glass make it that much harder to break from the inside?
We have plenty of improvements that could be made for the security of our home, but it's a much finer line than I realized between 'security' and 'trap'. Am I overthinking this?
