From the main shop techs there, it sounds like there is an issue where the transmission fluid will get into the coolant because of the way the radiator is designed. Eventually it weakens, and the fluids mix, killing the trans.
I have an Altima and a Maxima. I do fix and flips and restorations. Why not just replace the radiator with an aftermarket performance aluminum radiator and be done with it? Seems to me that if you know that the vehicle has a chronic radiator issue, you'd stay away from the factory radiator, but that's just me.
