    Default Trigger spring issue

Ok, so I have a shitty AK. CIA to be exact. I got it to be a cheap truck/camping gun. I might sell it later, but for now, even though it's shitty, I wanna keep it.

At first it was fine, then the trigger stopped resetting after each pull. I'd literally have to push the trigger forward again to shoot again. I gave it to a guy, he tweaked it, and it was fine for years now. Well it just started doing it again. The spring is a weird one and I am by no means a gunsmith. But I'd like to see if any of you guys have a trick or something that I can duplicate relatively easily. If I need to take it all apart, I can probably figure that out (with the help of youtube lol). So should I take it apart, and literally re-bend the spring?

This isn't my gun, but it looks like it. (again, maybe all AKs are like this? lol)

I'd probably just put a new spring in. But that's just me.

Don't pick a fight with an old man. If he is too old to Fight, he'll just kill you.

A US made trigger group from a good company is the best upgrade to any AK. Certainly will help if you've got the trigger slap as well. I'd say for for 30-40 bucks its more than worth the money and effort to correct shitty CAI trigger groups. Tapco makes a good one (about the only Tapco thing I like) I've heard Texas Triggers are good but I have no personal experience.

Check to make sure the trigger is not dragging on the receiver.
I have never seen an AK trigger/hammer spring fail.
Just replace it, Apex should have one or call Rob at Bowers.

    Or Rob I guess....

Just kidding, Rob's good people as well. I forget these things living out here on the frontier.

There's nothing 'weird" with the hammer spring, that's how they look.
The issue sounds like the sear spring needs replacing, or engagement with hammer is worn. Not enough to cause a slam fire (for now) . When you buy a US H/T/S they do not come with the springs. Buy a new set of springs, NOT used take offs. Brownells carries them as do other vendors.
