The crotch where it split appears to have had a rotten core. This is Highlands Ranch, so it's really not big enough for woodworking. On the positive side, it also wasn't big enough to hit the house or the car in the driveway.

Neighbor has a plum tree right next to this one and boy does it make a mess. Don't want another ash or a pine. I'm thinking some variety of oak to replace this one.

Trees took a pounding last night in our neighborhood. I have some chainsaw work ahead of me this week.

I ran a quick errand a bit ago, and there are a lot of big branches laying around on the side streets.

Just a bit of curb rash from taking the long, winding driveway out of work last night. Thankfully the bumper I used to plow Peoria last night is okay!

Rub it in, rub it in...... I just finished up cleaning up the tree damage using a cordless sawzall and a 8" wood blade.
Used the time between charging the batteries to pile and bundle the branches for curb side pick up on trash day.
I need new batteries, they are spending more time charging than cutting.

I know a guy who has a chainsaw for loan, if need be.

No thanks, the saws all did the job, I am just waiting on the summer sales to get a new chain saw.
And damn, DeWalt batteries are expensive ! Has anybody tried the cordless tool battery rebuilders that advertise for 1/2 the price of new ones ?

So much water the ground can no longer absorb it. Ugh. Woke up to a flooded basement. Moved the furniture, pulled all the soaked carpet and liner and still have water coming in as I speak.
