The link on their website says start position is high ready.

Do you draw from holster or high ready?

Lighting is pretty good, but it'll be even better soon. They added additional LED lighting over the shooting stations on the pistol side, and will be doing the same on the tactical side (where they run the bowling pin shoots).

Do you start with gun in holster or some form of low/high ready out of holster?

Both shooters start at high ready.

It's a cold range, you can have your unloaded gun in your holster, hammer down. On the command to load and make ready, shooters can take a sight picture with the unloaded gun, then load and chamber a round, and wait at high ready.

Yo, optics allowed but I see that changing from last weeks results. Sneekerd, that mag funnel glock guy shot at the 5:00 too. He took 2nd. Was beat by an iron sight shooter in one of his rounds. He was a pretty nice guy. I went up up against him in the quarter finals and choked. I'm shooting an xdm 5.25 competition 9mm. Was shooting like a champ till that round. When I was finished, the peanut gallery was even making choke comments. Got plenty of hazing from bill, r.w and others. I owned it and had a ton of fun again.
Im going there today to shoot and chat. I will ask if they are planning on changing some rules and stuff based on the latest shoot results.
A few of us have also been making bets on the shooters! Join the fun ! The short gal that shoots at 5 is great to watch. She gets better and better every week. Nice gal too.

Prior weeks, he shot a different gun which handicapped him enough to level the playing field for him. Guess he decided to show us how good he is with his super mega pistol. And he did. Cleared pins line a bulldozer. If he does it again, I'm assuming other shooters will say something. Not sure. He did not break any rules, but pretty much left a lot of other shooters with the feeling he was not being very sportsman like. He should be shooting more pins at a farther distance. Which is not really doable with the time and format. We shall see what the next weeks bring. If this winner is a member here, bring your "other" gun next time. Everyone likes it better and it is better competition. Can't believe it is "fun" knowing nobody can come close to beating ya.
A few weeks ago a few sandbaggers won 1st and 2nd. Have not seen them since. They kind of got the stink eye from everybody.
Many new and old shooters move themselves up a level knowing they need to be handicapped. I did it and I'm not even that good. Went from 4 pins to 5 because I thought it was more fair. And I lose, but I get more pins to shoot at. More pins= more shooting and more fun. In my mind. It's a TON of fun and I don't like the sandbaggers or the ringers ruining it for everyone. Not fun for a new 3 pin shooter to go against the guy who does not miss and clears pins like a bulldozer.
Seriously, he didn't miss 1 pin all night and swept them with a speed I have never seen there before. It was impressive, but also a bummer.

You said it yourself, he didn't break any rules. Since you are part of the match staff, perhaps you should change the format.

Not part of the staff, just a frequent visitor who helps set up.
Sneakerd, I'm med size. 5'10.5. Bald head w a goatee. Big nose. Wear in the ear electronic hearing protection. Usually flapping my jaw with other guys. RW and Bryan tend to give me grief so its easy to spot me. In the briefing they always call my name loudly and just my last name. Zarlengo. I supplied them with the pins for the shoots.

Oh...I assumed since you worked closely with the owners and RW that you were part of match staff.

Open vs Iron Sights is obviously not an equitable match up, ESPECIALLY INDOORS, as you can see with multiple people grumbling about it. Instead of giving an Open shooter the stink eye, and encouraging them not to bring their Open gun, why not change the format to make it a fair match up?

Perhaps you could suggest it to the match staff?
