Being from Oregon myself and going back every year I saw this in the news last summer. The 5-wide Prius formation crowd is up in arms about this.I did the math and the break-even point seems to be 20mpg city. Get less and pay the road tax, get more and pay the gas tax.
There will have to be a way to opt in-out because doing away with the gas tax loses tax on non oregon plates. Of course nothing could go wrong with the state putting a GPS in your car right?![]()
