Default Reasonable Pricing on Michelin LTX MS2

    Hi Guys,

I just wanted to get some reference info. I just bought 4 Michelin LTX MS2 for $191 per tire at Discount Tire. I had some Hankooks on that I liked but they wore out and thought I would try the Michelins this time. They are 265/70/17 on a Envoy XUV.

DT is having a sale so I recieved a $100 rebate and then I paid with their tire card, additional $60 rebate with no interest for 9 months and I am going to get a little back on the Hankooks that wore out prematurely.

    Total cost $905.45 installed.

I needed tires and don't really have time to scour the earth for the deal of the century, just wanted to know if this was reasonable for this product.

I will post my thought on the tire after I ride on them for awhile.

    Thanks,
    Griff

I need to pull the takeoff Michelins from my truck out of the garage storage and put them, on CL...

If they're been out of the sun for 10 years, are they still good?

Check for cracking-I believe they do dry out.

I went with the same tire to replace the previous generation LTX MS that I finally wore out on my Tahoe. I shopped around and went with Discount. I may have been able to manage a few bucks off here or there, but I get great service at my local store.

My previous set were raised white letter and I wanted blackwall. The blackwall price was higher. I went with the cheaper tire and they asked if I wanted them mounted with the white letters on the inside or outside...so I got blackwalls anyway.

That price is reasonable. You're really going to love those tires! I really noticed the improved snow performance, which is amazing since the previous generation was so good.

I bought a set of these a while back, and had looked at both Discount and Costco. Costco didn't have the exact match, but they have another tire that is almost identical (apparently they have to re-brand some of the most popular tires to avoid competition, but they were basically the same tire). Honestly, I don't remember which I went with because they were both a good deal.

You can always check tirerack.com for prices (looks like approx $184 per tire delivered), but keep in mind they usually don't include install and balancing, etc. like a local shop would.

I think that price sounds very reasonable.

Yeah I checked tire rack when I put my set on this fall and by the time your figure shipping and mount and balance and disposal the local shop/ discount tire was the same or a little better.

I pick up my tires from tirerack.com at their Denver warehouse (no shipping). Last time was a set of trailer tires.

When combined with manufacturer and DT rebates, plus no-interest financing, I've never found a better deal at Costco over DT. I don't even shop around any longer...always just go to DT and they treat me right.

I've never had the MS2...but I had a set of A/T 2s on a 3/4 ton truck and they were fantastic. Plus they were warranted for 60k miles.

I just put a set of Goodyear Duratracs on my truck about 1200 miles ago. Great in the snow but pretty loud. I'll have to see how they wear on a heavy truck.
