    Default Stupid Deer!

The deer herds where I live are way too large, and of course no hunting allowed. Memorial weekend was set aside for tree planting; 30 Aspen Seedlings, 25 Cottonwood Seedlings, 8 8ft Aspen, and 1 Maple as a trial. I sprayed them all with Deer Be Gone. The deer ate most of the 8ft trees, they ate the seedlings inside the dog fence; dumb dog was sleeping on the job. They even ate the Maple, which is suppose to be resistant to deer. I have about 17 seedlings left that I soaked in repellent. I need to plant aspen trees in the areas I cleared of douglas fir for fire mitigation. This sucks; I wished that we could harvest a few of those damn things so we could thin the herd a little. I have a 25 head herd that roams my lot daily with about 8 or so yearlings.
I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.

If I catch them, rubber buckshot. Although, it is not a deterrent from them coming back. It mostly just lets me vent my frustration.

I need to look into this. Although, the herd needs to be thinned a lot more; one isn't going to cut it.

Oh ok, makes a lot more sense than plastic pellets! Are deer phased by deer carcass/parts? Could you put somewhat fresh deer skulls or something at intervals on your property line?. Sorry for my animal ignorance...

If archery tags are available you could have more than one hunter reduce your problem

Animal parts attract a different problem namely predators and scavengers; I remove predator kills from my property as soon as I find them. Deer are alerted by predators; pretty bold that they jumped the dogs fence with the smell of her urine everywhere; which means putting down the repellent with predator urine won't likely work either.
