Obama is a creep. We currently have a position where creeps are rewarded with money & power, and people who are principled defenders of liberty are consistently barred from a "seat at the table" precisely because they will not compromise on the essential liberties men ought to enjoy (which are the bargaining chips at such tables.)

Fundamentally, I do not believe the problem is Obama, but a system that rewards that kind of behavior. For the same reason its a bad idea for the govt to start giving all sorts of money to churches (for the more religious lovers of liberty who might not see that as a big deal; remember that money is always followed by control. Always.), it is a bad idea for them to give money to / regulate / give advantages to any industry. Of course, let us make sure no industry dumps toxic waste into their neighbors' lawns, murders people or sells poison as food, but thats properly taken care of by the criminal justice system, not a plethora of federal agencies meant to preemptively pronounce industries guilty of the above and forcing them to prove themselves innocent.

Basically, once its conceded that any legislature can regulate almost any aspect of our lives (be it with whom or how we can have sex, to with whom or how we must do business,) tyranny is only a matter of time and details. The reason is because - in principle - a legislature that can do that is just a self-restrained tyranny. Unless people reject the fundamental ideas that give rise to that type of government power, then the logic of the ideas inevitibly leads a country into dictatorship.

So I believe the real enemy is not necessarily Obama (though of course he is a fiend,) but the ideas permeating the culture that give Obama the air of an idealist. To my mind, to be honest, it doesn't really matter whether Obama is a cynic trying to enrichen himself and get his political friends in good, or a so-called "idealist" trying to put into practice the age old idea of service to others. In practice, both approaches result in the exact same end - poverty and dictatorship. Our problem is not that we have "corrupt" politicians, its that our culture (and thus our government) is guided by corrupt ideas.
