When I was visiting a friend up in BC, we came across a guy fly fishing. He had a double barrel 12 gauge and a canoe paddle. I was puzzled, because I didn't see a canoe anywhere. I figured the shotgun was for bears, because there are a lot of them up there. So I asked the guy what the canoe paddle was for....



He says" I use the shotgun to take the mosquitoes out of the air, the canoe paddle is to finish them off while they're stunned..."

Never lived in Alaska soI can't personally compare, but mosquitos are one of the big reasons I won't be Moving back to MO where all my family lives, IL where I was stationed for 2 tours/10 years, or KY where my wifes family lives and we own a house.

I HATE BUGS. They, well, bug me.
