Default Can Tampa Bay Set Such a Policy ?

Chicago Blackhawks vs. Tampa Bay Lightning in the Stanley Cup Finals

    SHORT STORY:

    1) No Ticketmaster sales to non-Florida residents for the Stanley Cup games held in Tampa.

    2) No Visitors (viz. Blackhawks) Logo-ed items (shirts/hats) in the stadium clubs

LONGER STORY: Blackhawk fans: Tampa ticket rules 'wrong on so many levels'

Q: Seems like the NHL would prohibit such action ?

COMMENT: Reminds me of the Senfeld episode where Elaine wore a Red Sox hat when sitting in the Yankee Owner's Box

The NFL has done the ticket sale thing before. I suppose it's a privately owned facility and they can set a dress code too.

They can do whatever they want. Won't stop the 'Hawks from winning again.

Apparently Tampa Bay feels the need to 'pull out all the stops' to try and win....rather than just playing better hockey.

I am looking forward to the Chicago Tribune perhaps publishing a story along the lines of:

"The City of Chicago welcomes and invites all Tampa Bay fans and their money to come to Chicago. Please feel free to purchase as many Stanley Cup Final tickets, hosted at the United Center, as you can afford. While in Chicago, be sure to stay at our hotels, eat at our restaurants, and visit our attractions. You may wear any of your Tampa Bay Logo-ed items anywhere you choose; after all, this is still America. However, blatantly identifying yourself as a Tampa Bay Lightning fan in a strongly predominant Chicago Blackhawks area carries its own set of risks."

I understand it is a privately owned venue; however, I would have guessed that there was some sort of NHL rule to which the franchises had to abide, that would prohibit the venue from things like that.

That is shabby treatment of the visitors. Disgraceful.

The League should disallow that kind of behavior esp during the cup .

    That being said...

That is just poor sportsmanship. Really don't watch the Cup much anymore since the glory days but this just gave me a reason want the Hawks to win.

The Broncos did similar things for playoffs, restricted purchases.
