If I had to choose between taking a hit from 277v everyday for 2 weeks and having this I would choose the shock therapy. That was probably the worst pain I have ever felt. Ruined my Memorial day weekend laid up in the hospital on IV antibiotics for 4 days. Have about 4 more days to go on ciprofloxacin and flagyl. Eat more fiber folks.

These small pockets form on your colon and intestines and those become packed with crap and become infected and inflammed. The pain can be pretty intense. Having a diet high in fiber helps keep this from happening.

I truly feel your pain Neal. It sucks, I had two bouts of it back in 2009 and it freakin hurts.
I told my wife if this is what a gal feels every month I am amazed they don't shoot themselves.
More fiber, watch seedy foods like tomatoes, raspberrys and such.

Yup no fun at all. More fiber and I also read that pineapple juice has something in it to aid digestion along with the fiber.

Yep, that's the one. Anything can cause it including the tiny little seeds on the surface of a strawberry (as I recall this is how they think Brock ended up with it) and it's hard to say what's going to set it off. Fiber can help prevent it but it's still a pretty mysterious thing from causation to prevention from what I recall. Either way it does not sound like any fun. I agree with the OP's summation and will even allow you to connect the leads directly to my nuts to avoid it.

I suffered from it back in 2004. Ended up in the hospital for a week and was very close to having the infected pockets burst which would have been a real mess for me. Had no idea I had it until it was almost too late. In the end (after initial infection went away) I ended up having to have Colon resection surgery and they removed a 1/3 of my Colon. That was no fun at all.
