Angry So I found my stolen motorcycle..... kinda......

I just found a craigslist ad...here in denver of a motorcycle with my stolen bikes fairings.... ( stolen 3-4 years ago !)

I went and looked at it VIN's don't match ( I checked the motor one too)

I had a VERY unique paint job on it so I'm sure they are mine but no serial numbered parts I can use for proof....

I'm so pissed . The guy has it sitting outside so I looked at it alone ...which is better cuz I mighta roughed him up over the fairings.

That sucks. But you never know...he may have come by them innocently enough if he just bought parts. You did the right thing by not escalating it.

You could tell him how much you like the fairings and ask him where he got them.

Any chance the fairings are not yours?

    Doubtful.....
What are the odds of the same bike ( an 1986 Honda VFR) having the same purple/Blue morphing ghost flame paint job ? LOL

They came stock Red White and Blue.

But like Bailey said.. he might just bought them from the asshole that stole mine. But without serial numbers I got no court level proof....

Tho I have a friend in DPD that is gunna poke around for me ....

Do you happen to have any pictures of your bike with the parts on it before it was stolen? Could really sway things in your favor.

depending on how things go please remember this guy may be innocent in the whole deal and could have bought them off a guy who said his bike broke down or other excuse and had no idea they were stolen or he was buying stolen property.
if he knew or he stole them then by all means burn him to the ground. I just know if some guy showed up and said I stole his stuff or he was taking it back I'd be pretty upset if I was innocent in the whole situation.

OP can just be honest about it and say "Hey, my bike with those fairings was stolen, can you tell me where you got them so I can ask about it?" Creating another lead and following up on it.
