Trigger reset problem with new PSA MOE lower

I got this lower from PSA a month ago, fully assembled. My son is running it with his Radical Firearms upper, and it ran great for him his first trip out with it, about 240 rounds or so.

Today we took it to the range, and when I shot it, I noticed an issue. I tend to ride the trigger reset, and his did not want to reset after the shot. I actually had to push the trigger forward to be able to pull it again. Did it several times in a row. It doesn't do it if you release the trigger fully right away, only if you ride the reset.

We're going to open it up, clean it and test it with the lower removed from the upper to see whats happening.

I've heard that a backwards spring can cause this issue, but as I said, it was fully assembled from PSA, so I'm assuming they put it together correctly.

Took a friend shooting and we had the same problem with his PSA lower. Swapped out FCG groups and that fixed the problem. I'm sure you can tweek the trigger but that is out of my technical ability.

Possibly an out of spec disconector or other FCG part. See if you can figure out what it is and call PSA. If not maybe they will just swap you a FCG.

Or buy the ALG QMS, im pleased with the set i bought.

I would think if the spring was bassackward you would see other signs such as light primer hits as well.
I would suspect a weak/broken trigger spring, walking trigger pin, debris.

We're going to clean it up good... looks like it had some kind of grease on it left over from assembly. With the lower removed, I can't duplicate the issue.

He's probably going to order one of those ALG triggers in any case. TY all for the tips/suggestions. I'll report back how it runs next time out.

Get it local at Damage Factory or Ark Tactical. Good people from this forum run those shops. Prices are very agreeable, as well.

May have been just sloppy enough to not function with your shooting style.
That said, I've experienced 1 crunchy trigger from PSA. Swapped it for an ALG and all was right with the world. Then, I had the opportunity/necessity to use the original PSA fcg in a different lower, and it was quite a bit smoother. Must have been dirty, or had some burrs or something (disassembled, cleaned thoroughly, lightly stoned some edges and lubed generously generously prior to subsequent install). Nothing great, but performed pretty much like a stock fcg ever since.

ETA: would an upside-down disconnector spring cause this?

Disconnector spring is wider on the bottom so I could see it not catching the hammer hook & causing the hammer to follow. The tail of the trigger causes the disconnector to release the hammer, so I doubt the disconnector spring would be the culprit.
