Thanks for all the new welcomes.
Now I have a new question......

I've been looking pretty hard at a brand called Sionics Weapon Systems.
Their rifles spec perfectly for what I am looking for. Has anyone ever tried them, have , or shot them? How does their overall quality seem to you? Thanks in advance

Welcome aboard! I have heard about Sionics Weapons Systems, handled one a few days ago it appeared to be a halfway decent put together model, the only issues the shooters encountered was trying to shoot thier brand new rifle dry, as in no gun lube whatsoever, after some MP Pro 7 it ran like a top. Aside from that nothing else to report. Echoing what many of the other members have all ready said check out the AR-15 specific threads and stick around. Also check out BCM's website and look at what folks like Pat Rogers, Larry Vickers, Pat Macnamara, Travis Haley, and Frank Proctor have to say about thier rifles after many thousands combined rounds down range.

Many opinions here and most are worth exactly what you pay for them. I normally suggest you build your lower. You get the benefit of knowing how to maintain and swap out parts on the fire control group. You also get exactly what you choose and you can easily make changes later down the road. For a first upper, my preference is Bravo Company and I like mid-length gas on a 16" barrel. Twist rate has more to do with the bullets you plan on shooting. 1 in 8 is a good compromise and you will be able to shoot almost anything with that twist rate.

Remember to budget for your sights/optics, magazines and ammunition. Over the life of your rifle, you will spend more money on ammunition than any other part of the rifle. At least with good optics you can reuse the glass on something else.

Decide how you will be using the rifle and then look for suggestions here as well as all over the Internet.

    Be safe.
    Very good advice. Welcome!
