Hi. New member from Illinois. Just wanted to say hi. I have some questions about advice on getting my first AR. My budget is $1100 max.
1. Carbine or mid length
I've read mid length is better for longevity, and possibly for reliability.
2. Some brands I'm considering...... for a carbine I've considered a.Colt LE6920 or LE6920 w/ Magpul furniture.
b. FNH USA. FN 15 carbine or FN 15 tactical carbine.
c. Sid M400 or M400 enhanced
3. For mid -length, I've considered
a. Smith & Wesson M&P15 MOE Mid Magpul
b. Rock River Arms LAR 15 Operator II Elite
c. Ruger AR556
I know most carbines have a 1/7 twist rate. Also some other AR's use a 1/9. I was thinking a 1/8 would be a decent compromise, or is this a non-issue? Also other options A2 front sight w/ BUIS vs. straight optics? I do know I'd like a direct gas impigement vs. a piston version. collapsible stock, and am curious of which brands to avoid..... ie Stag, Core15, Delton. I've never heard of them, so I have no idea of their quality, reliability, and future resale if that ever becomes a option in the future. Thank you in advance.

Please if at all possible include a link with info regarding your recommendation. I'd like to read / learn as much as I could before I decide to buy.
