I see it differently. He's sitting on the flag as a reminder. As long as it's under him freedom is being fought for. If he falls off freedom has been lost.

To be honest, I thought the SS Marlin in 45-70 was a solid choice for its quick reload capabilities and power. It does, however, lack capacity. That being said, he probably didn't have it thinking "one day the king of all dinosaurs is going to break out" he probably had it more for "dinosaur charging" you moment. 45-70 wasn't probably the ideal gun, but it didn't seem to be a bad gun for the job either.

Screw bringing a gun... they're too fast, no matter what you had, your ass would be eaten alive. I'm going to play it smart, it would be rather annoying, but smart... I would bring my x-wife. The moment we hit the island and got in trouble, I'd tell her how good her sister was, and let everything get scared away. Once we made it to the rescue boat, chopper, whatever safely, I'd knock her ass out and leave her for a snack.
If you make something idiot proof, someone will make a better idiot... Forget youth, what we need is a fountain of smart. There are no stupid questions, just a lot of inquisitive idiots.

After watching it last night with the wife and sister in law, I'd have to go with the Mark 1 Mod 0 Jerry Miculeck with his M-107 .50, if I can't have that then 3-4 M72 LAW's and a .50 Beowolf AR-15.
