It's a horrible cycle but it's a fact of life in this day and age and I've been seriously considering getting a good rewards card to use. I just can't decide which.

I agree- my folks are having to deal with this as well. They're driving down from MN to visit us, and they won't be able to do it with cash because so many of the gas stations in Moobraska only take cards. We set up a joint account with a debit card, so their trip will be covered in case of emergency. They also now have a credit card that they have in case of emergency.

The credit noose is tightening around everyone's neck.
