Wow, illegal to relocate friggin' squirrels? That's crazy!

I just relocated one into my garbage can. A pellet to the head does not kill them. I found that out the hard way.

My EDC: Handcuffs, Bandana, and Ball Gag.
If I'm ever at a party and the cops come to arrest people. Ill blindfold myself, throw the ball gag in, handcuff my hands, and hide in a closet. Police never arrest hostages!
Jer is correct, trapping and relocating is a big no-no.
Telepathy. The holster is just so I can rock it under a shirt as I'm out and about the house so neighbors don't get their panties in a bunch. I had a M&P15-22 but quickly realized that that looked WAY more menacing to a non-gun owner than what it was really capable of. This should be easier to conceal until the time it's needed and then can quickly be returned w/o anyone being the wiser.
I wish you were my neighbor. 10 years ago when we built the place we had good neighbors that wouldn't have minded either (most called me if something went bump in the night before they called 911 in fact) but unfortunately they've all moved off to either Texas or Idaho and Kalifornia transplants have taken root in their place. Blech. My ops need to be of the covert variety now unfortunately.
Yep. We're against the foothills on the NW edge of Loveland, literally the last neighborhood before Rocky Mtn High, and if I trapped a bunny or two and drove them over the first ridge and let them go I could get in a world of shit if someone saw me do it. Lame.
A single suppressed .22LR to the dome seems to do the job nicely. DRT. So I heard....

Bunnies, I have no issue with bunnies. They help me keep the grass mowed. Always have several living under our shed every year. The little fist-sized babies are adorable! But squirrels.....
And yes, a pellet to the head will kill them! So I've heard.....

Good thinking! Sad things are going this way though. People should see it as a public service...

Here is the info I have found on eliminating and/or relocating nuisance wildlife.
https://cpw.state.co.us/Documents/Wi...ceWildlife.pdf
I live in JeffCo. I have never been able to find a single ordinance regarding legality of discharging airguns on private property. I'm under the assumption that if a regulation/ordinance doesn't exist making it illegal, than it must be legal. One of these days I'll call the Sheriff's office to confirm.1.) WHAT CAN I DO IF WILDLIFE IS CAUSING DAMAGE ON MY PROPERTY?Statute 33-6-107(9) and Wildlife Commission Regulations (WCR) 306(A), WCR 1000(A)(5), WCR 313(C) & WCR 327If wildlife is causing damage to crops, real or personal property, or livestock - a person (or any employee or agent of thelandowner) may hunt, trap, or take the following wildlife on lands owned or leased by the person without securing alicense to do so:
• Black-billed magpies, common crows, starlings, English or house sparrows, common pigeons, coyotes, bobcats, redfoxes, raccoons, jackrabbits, badgers, marmots, prairie dogs, pocket gophers, Richardson's ground squirrels, rocksquirrels, thirteen-lined ground squirrel, porcupines, crayfish, tiger salamanders, muskrats, beavers, exotic wildlife, and common snapping turtles.
• Additional species include: tree squirrels, cottontail rabbits, marmots, porcupines, bats, mice (except Preble's meadowjumping mouse), opossums, skunks, voles, rats, and ground squirrels.
• Any person may kill rattlesnakes when necessary to protect life or property.
• The pelts or hides of any mammal taken under these provisions may be transferred, possessed, traded, bartered, or soldby any person who holds an appropriate small game or furbearer license. (For information on the possession and/ordisposal of pelts and hides of animals NOT listed above, including bear and lion, please contact CPW for permission.)
2.) WHAT METHODS CAN I USE TO TAKE WILDLIFE WHEN THEY ARE CAUSING DAMAGE ON MYPROPERTY?Statute 33-6-203(1), WCR 303(A)(3), WCR 303(B), WCR 303 (E) & WCR 306Trapping and or shooting are the most common methods.
• If using firearms, check with your local authorities on the laws that apply to discharging a firearm.
• If trapping, the ONLY types of traps that may be used are LIVE (cage or box traps). (See #5 for exceptions.)
• Small game and furbearers captured in live traps cannot be moved from the capture site and must be killed or released onsite when the trap is checked. (See #3 and #4 following for exceptions.)
3.) WHICH WILDLIFE SPECIES CAN I RELOCATE WITHOUT A PERMIT?WCR 303(A)(3)Tree squirrels, cottontail rabbits and raccoons can be relocated without a permit, provided that:
• CPW has been notified in advance.
• The relocation site is appropriate habitat for the species.• Permission has been obtained from the landowner or managing agency where the animal will be released.
• The relocation must occur within 10 miles of the capture site for squirrels and rabbits and within 2 miles for
Yep. Absolutely.
If you live west of Wilson, you're definitely in rattlesnake country.
I live just east of Wilson in Emerald Glen and they found a dead fox in our greenbelt area last year. I think my neighbors thought I had something to do with the death, but the "authorities" (whoever that means--this was passed on to me by my neighbors) determined that the fox died due to a rattlesnake bite. This was during the time Xcel was digging things up for the new gas line on the west side of Wilson. The theory was that all that construction stirred up the snakes.
Snakes, rabbits, foxes, coyote, bears... It's a jungle up here!
