    Default .338LM Barrel Recommendations

I will need to rebarrel my Sako TTG-42 this year. Any brand recommendations from personal experience?

I know the usual suspects: Bartlein, Brux, Krieger, Lilja, and I'll probably get one of these four, but I was looking for some informed, first-hand opinions.

Folks might want to weigh in on barrel length, twist rate, gain twist, twist direction, grooves, etc., which is fine, but I'd really like to sort it out by brand first.

My plan with the rig is to shoot steel with Hornady 285 HPBT at 1-2K+.

Well I had the opportunity and I jumped on a Chanlynn 1:9 LH twist that was in stock in Mark's shop due to a cancelled order.

Nice to buy local! From everything I've heard it should be good - very good.

Dave Sullivan at Westwind Rifles will spin it up for me after the Spring/Summer season, so I can shoot out what's left of my Sako factory barrel in the meantime.

Still driving a Bartlien 9.3 twist. Very happy with it.
