Squirrel pest control and pellet gun

I have a major squirrel problem and I just went out and got a pellet gun. It's a little loud as I think I'm not staying subsonic. Anyways. Is it legal to use it to help with my squirrel problem. Everything I have read mentions "city limits" but I am not in city limits. I'm in unincorporated jeffco. I just don't want the cops showing up.

Just shoot them. Be aware of your surroundings. Make shots count and if ever questioned; deny everything, admit nothing and make counter acuisations.

Umarex air guns is what we have. They are real quiet. The only tree rats we shoot are the city squirrels, we let our Aberts be.

I thought about this but the only thing that separates me from a school is a road and fence. I'll stick with the pellets.

Penalty / fine is the same when discharging a firearm within city limits or residential areas. Might as well go for broke. Colibri red box works great out of a 4" revolver or 22/44. Based on conversations i may have been privy to, allegedly.

Get one of those Havahart type live traps, and bait it with a teaspoon of mixed nuts, where they can see and smell them, but have to go inside to get them. You'll catch the rat bastards, then can dispatch or release them elsewhere.

I'll be honest. I'm not going to waste my time with relocation. My FIL would catch them in live traps and then drop the trap into a 30 gallon trash can full of water. Then throw the squirrel over the fence for the foxes (high line canal) but this is a gun forum. this was a perfect excuse to get a new toy.

My neighbor has a trap in his backyard, in the last 2 months he has caught 8 of those bastards.
