    Default A2 Iron Sight problem

So I went out today to get ready for the Appleseed shoot next weekend. The shoot is designed to work on marksmanship with iron sight so I pulled the scopes off and went to the south range.

I went thru the 25 meter zero with my Bushmater A2 and ended up way from the "Mechanical Zero". I included a picture of the windage setting when all was done, I am at least 6 clicks left of center.

So the question is, what is up with this and how can I or should I correct this? Seems to me the front site must be off but???

This is my first AR so any help would be welcomed.

    Thanks!

Any chance the front sight is slightly bent? I had one that looked like that.. Had one of those thin "target" front post.. Hit where You looked. but the rear was all the way over to the left..

That sounds about right. I do not think it is just the sight post as I adjusted that up and down and the windage was still left so not sure, could the whole riser be off or perhaps the barel is mounted off slightly from the fatory?

Any way to prove out what the issue is, can a smith check it? Would rather not throw parts at it...

If I do throw parts, how hard is it to replace the front sight, it is a 20in HBAR?

Not hard to replace the front sight.. The only other thing I could think it might be is an overtourqued barrel.. slightly more involved.. but still not bad.. Try the sight first though..

Saturday morning I am headed to the Appleseed shoot in Fountain pretty early so that may not work.

Where would you suggest I pick up a new front sight and post, anywhere locally (Denver / CS)?
