    Default Inexpensive 10.5" pistol uppers

Never thought i'd do a "help me choose" thread, but i'm new to the pistol game, and wonder if i'm missing anything. This AR pistol is going to be a range toy. it seems there are 10.5" uppers to be had in the sub $300 range, or north of $700 range, with not a lot in the middle.

anyway, these are the two. if anything jumps out as a red flag on either, i'd love to hear it. priced without the BCG and charging handle, and adding the keymod rail, the prices are nearly identical.

the daytona tactical one obviously does not have a removable flash hider

thanks in advance for any input. or, if you have a suggestion for a reasonable .223/5.56 10.5" pistol upper, throw it out there.

I also use PSA 10.5" uppers with FSB.

Check out hardenedarms.com. You can also bid on them on gun brokers from the actual company, for great prices. I have not had any issues or problems with quality.

I recently picked up an upper from Mas Defense. The fit and finish is on par with PSA as far as I can see. I haven't had a chance to fire it so take that for what it's worth.

Radical Firearms is also a good choice. I bought a 8.5" 300BO upper from them and is super clean. Very crisp rifling in the barrel, nice and shiny.

thanks for the tips! i like that flashcan setup with the 10.5" barrel and the 12" rail. but, if my math is correct, that makes the overall barrel/flash can set up to be 13.75"

i was chatting up Rob at Bowers about the flash can and he wasn't positive on them, and suggested i have Bowers spect out a price--plan to do that soon.

I've used several barrels from MAS Defense with good results. Never bought a complete upper from them though.

I've seen YouTube videos of the Radical Firearms stuff and it seems to function well.

Since it's going to be a range toy and not a SHTF weapon then I say find something in the price range you want and go for it.

Or you could stick your own together with the parts and pieces you want.

I've thought about that, but have never built an upper
