One of the coolest experiences I've had

I was out having a beer earlier with some guys I work with. I noticed an older guy sitting at a table a little ways away, facing away from me, wearing a shirt that said "Vengeance" with a subdued flag and what looked like names under it.
I walked by his table on the way to take a piss and saw that the names were ones I recognized, and underneath them it said "Operation Red Wings." On my way back I caught him staring at the beat up IR flag on my hat, and figured he had to be a vet. When I sat back down I told the waiter to bring the guy another of whatever he was drinking and put it on my tab.
He came over and thanked me, and we talked a bit.
Turned out to be Danny Dietz, Sr.
