Does anyone know who in the metro area might have DIY refinishing kits? Or even Alumahyde for that matter?

Bowers Tactical has the alumahyde. It's pretty much just glorified spray paint.
I'm quite a do-it-yourself kind of a guy but I'll still leave the cerakoting to the professionals.
Rustolium professional and fusion are on par with alumahide in my book. It's all about the prep.
Don't be stupid!!!!!
I ordered a DIY Duracoat a few years back. Single color made it hard to screw up, just prep the metal, mix the two parts and spray. It dried up real nice and it ain't coming off.
Now the color choice I made, well that's another topic.

I Cerakoted a FAL in my kitchen.. Blasted and parked the parts one weekend and sprayed and baked the next. I used a Preval sprayer that you can get at Home Depot. Turned out great!

Bought one of these kits.. There was just enough Cerakote to do the rifle with just a small amount left over. Once you mix the color and the hardener you have to use it all so the small kit was perfect.
