I heard today that Tanner at the Merchandise Mart will start up again in January 2021.

I'd wager Merchandise Mart manglement might be a little frightened of some bed-wetting pansy who'll attend a show, claim they caught the ChiCom Batlick Flu, and sue them out of existence.

I received this E-mail from the TANNER Gun Show promoters...

New Year Update From That Tanner Gun Show

Tanner Gun Show would like to wish everyone a happy New Year.
To say we are frustrated is probably an understatement, a couple of our neighboring states have allowed several thousand person gun shows without any health consequences.
We petitioned appropriate health officials with several ideas like spreading vendors out in the entirety of the Denver Mart, rope off part of the parking lot, and have some vendors outside or even a completely outdoor event but each time local authorities insist on restrictions which make a show impossible.
We pursued litigation but that would take months with significant legal fees, unfortunately, we wait and cut our operating costs in order to survive.
Tanner Gun Show will be back providing an essential resource bigger and better than ever, hopefully, sooner rather than later as we truly miss our customers and world-class vendors.

Did the Merchandise Mart ever use the drive-in theater screen in the parking lot for any events?

Maybe the vendors can get a few random booths at the next pot show. Seems turnabout would be fair play.

They will use this excuse until the promoters give up. I'll be surprised if the mart host any gun shows in 21.

I wonder if they could do a little more scaled down version. Basically have a guy counting heads at the door and allow up to the max capactiy. One person leaves they let another in. Petition the City / State to have an allowance for a large audience based on sq footage of the building. Maybe extend the show an extra day and longer hours to filter people through. Ask people to limit their time inside to an hour so they can let the next group of people in. It sucks. I don't think it's right but I think we have to do SOMETHING and even if we have to start a little smaller than usual we can get things rolling again. We can't give up.

For the record, I work in the event industry and have been a part of hundreds of events across the country including many in Colorado at various facilities. This isn't unique to Colorado or the gun show industry. It's killing the entire expo and event industry in America equally so while I know many in our local government aren't sad about how it's effecting the gun shows specifically, it is literally EVERY event that's going through the same crap here and we are not being singled out.

Following current hypocritical guidance, I would suspect local decrees that COVID would spread vehemently at any gun show, necessitating prohibition, but NOT at any social justice events.

But they should encourage all gun owners/fans to attend unmasked, and plant to few c19 positive folks in the crowd and kill off all thier opponents with a few coughs...
