Default Frank Proctor Performance Rifle and Pistol, July 7-8 Colorado Springs

Peak Performance Consulting is bringing Frank Proctor to Colorado Springs on July 7 & 8 for one day of Performance Carbine and one day of Performance Handgun.

I just attended this same class in Waxahachie Texas Jan 31-Feb 1st and I learned a lot. Frank has some unique insights on seeing more and processing faster in order to shoot faster. He blends the "tactical" and "competition" worlds very well, and what he teaches is very applicable to both. I shot almost 900 rounds of both pistol and carbine, but I also kept going back and doing the drills over and over to get more out of the class. It was not just a blast fest. He is also very big on simple and effective equipment and techniques. I ran the carbine day with just my AR and a couple of mags in belt mounted pouches.

I will be one of the facilitators for this class, so if you have any questions about it, feel free to e-mail me at gdw042@msn.com.

Hope to see some of you there!

This will be an intensive two day course that will give the shooter plenty of tools to reach their performance shooting goals with their Carbine and pistol. This will be accomplished by training the Performance Shooting Process: Processing, Control, Mechanics and Movement. You must have extremely safe gun handling skills and a working knowledge of marksmanship to attend this course.

Day One - Way of the Carbine: This is a Performance Shooting course. Performance Shooting is defined as applying the correct ratio of speed and accuracy to dynamic shooting situations with a goal of scoring maximum points or eliminating the threat in minimum time.

This course is designed to give the shooter all the tools necessary to effectively run your carbine in any shooting situation at any effective carbine distance. This portion of the course will focus on the full spectrum of running the carbine at distances of 25 yards and in, including various movement techniques and shooting while moving. We will then move into utilizing the carbine at greater distances (out to 200 yards). During the long-range portion we will explore the capabilities and limitations of your carbine, optics (or irons) and ammo. We will also cover techniques for working in/around vehicles and other “natural” terrain, including rapid stability techniques.
    Course Requirements:
    - Carbine with 50 yard zero. Time will be allowed to confirm zero
    - Sling – must allow you to operate with the carbine.
    - 5 magazines
    - Magazine pouch-belt mounted or body armor/chest rig
    - Long sleeves and gloves suitable for shooting (will be very beneficial for day 2)
    - Eye Protection (wrap around style) and Hearing protection

Day Two - Way of the Gun Performance Pistol Process: The Performance Pistol Process course is designed to give the shooter a more complete understanding of what is necessary for performance shooting with the pistol. In the Performance Pistol Process we will explore all 4 components of the Performance Shooting Process in detail and the shooter will walk away with new understanding of what it takes to be a performance pistol shooter. This course will provide you with enough repetition to completely grasp the concepts and develop new skills that will change your pistol shooting.

    Course requirements:
    - Pistol suitable for Performance Shooting (Glock 19 or larger)
    - 3 magazines or the ability to have 45-50 rounds per training iteration
    - Holster, open top or retention

I'll be there tomorrow. Anyone else?

I shot Frank's class last year in Pueblo West. Definitely worth the time.

Big thanks to the guys at Peak Performance Consulting for bringing Frank to COS. They hosted a really good class with some great students. If I can find a little free time I'll write a full AAR but overall it was a great two days.
