Although I don't agree with this, the article states that it would apply to SS beneficiaries that have a representative payee and they have mental conditions.

    Title of article is misleading

Yes there is a mental health piece in there, but not all mental health conditions would cause being a danger to ones self or others. For a Person to need a Rep Payee it would mean one thing. You have a mental health or physical diagnosis or condition that would limit their ability to understand complex information.

This includes the elderly, but also includes people with development/intellectual disabilities such as; Down syndrome, Cerebral palsy, Mental Retardation, or any other diagnosis that required long term support and care.

I have a huge problem with this.

I know several people that have a development/intellectual disability diagnosis that go hunting with their family or who love to go target shooting or involved with 4H or other programs.

The whole "executive order" at this time is too vague, there is not enough info yet as to who is targeted by our useless CIC. Waiting to here what the idiot is planning then see how many rights advocacy groups step up and fight.

Not always. There are many other reasons for to have a Rep Payee. For example, there tax and financial implications that some people use to allocate funds.
What is my joy if all hands, even the unclean, can reach into it? What is my wisdom, if even the fools can dictate to me? What is my freedom, if all creatures, even the botched and impotent, are my masters? What is my life, if I am but to bow, to agree and to obey?

Yes, but what I was talking about is from my understanding of reading the announcement, they are targeting the combo of; SS + REP PAYEE due to Long Term Care and supports needed which includes Mental Health for inhibiting guns rights, but the category is far too encompassing for my tastes, and targets those that have no problems.
