I've had just the opposite happen on my laptop,it actually seems faster. Go figure.

Ummmmm, gonna have to do better than that. This explains a bunch of it.

Make sure you turn off all the Cortina stuff aka we will listen and record everything you do and send it off to the cloud so we can analyze it.

It's under Advanced options during the install. Everything is on by default and you need to turn it all off.

Well I got my microphone working finally-google had a guy who found a backdoor way of updating the driver-it was under game controllers.
