Well, I doubt anyone's going to turn anything in. The other options, as stated in the article are "remove, sell or transfer" out of LA. Note that this is an LA City ordinance, does not apply to CA as a whole.

Not saying I like the law, I don't, but as laws go this one is pretty innocuous. Honestly I'm surprised there are any law abiding gun owners left in LA but if there are, all they need to do is store the magazines with a friend or rent a storage locker outside the city limits.

Kind of like what I did when I was stationed at Army posts in CONUS. I lived in the barracks and per Army regs all firearms and ammo had to be stored in the arms room - IFthey were brought on post, that is. So, my first stop when traveling to a new duty station was to a self-storage place off post. Guns and ammo would go in there and then when I was asked "did you bring any firearms or ammo with you to your new duty station" I could honestly answer that no, I did not.

Again, I agree it's a stupid, toothless law that serves no purpose but the way it's written it's pretty easy to get around.

I wonder if all of those private security providers employed by the rich and famous will be exempt from this law.

Of course. "Lex Bovis, Non Jovis" = "The law is for cattle, not for the Gods."
