A woman called Fort Collins Police Services on May 24 to report “two unknown Middle Eastern males” had approached her in a parking lot “inquiring about her husband, who was in the military,” Sgt. Dean Cunningham told the Coloradoan.

Exactly. PLUS, if you let them get that close, you have no chance of getting out of a serious situation. I can tell you, that my wife knows better than to let two males walk up on her and strike up a conversation.

My son received word about this shortly after it happened. The apparent ploy, as pointed out, is to approach the wives/girlfriends. I'd be rather surprised if these asshats decided to approach men, in their mind women are far more easy to intimidate. My daughter in law is quite capable of being intimidating on her own and is very aware of her surroundings-she's got the "momma bear" thing down pretty good too lol.

The FBI saying there is no threat is ridiculous. The fact that there are local individuals who have access to that intel (overseas connections) and are willing to act on it to any degree is proof there is a threat.

While true, I've absolutely had it and question why any decent person would give Fed .gov any credibility at this point. I would like to think there a high percentage of Fed agency/LE folks who have a problem repeating and acting on the lies. But then I am constantly proven wrong.
