Watching it again, it appears that some particles follow the bullet out of the barrel. Unburned powder, pieces of primer or what?

I have seen this video all over the place lately. Even on mainstream media. What's so special about it?

While I love to see guns firing in slow speed as much as the next guy, its not new. There have been many slow-mo videos of guns firing that are just as detailed. The gas projection, the recoil, barrel bounce (on rifles) and unspent powder/particulates coming out last have all been recorded before.

Amazing to watch, but groundbreaking enough to be viral...?

73,000 high resolution fps is pretty f'ing impressive imo. There isn't too much footage out there quite like this.

Even this 18,000 FPS video is pretty good. I had to play them next to each other to see the difference.

Check out Slow mo lab on YouTube. They have some great gun videos. The desert eagle is cool.

And the "Gun Stories" show on Outdoor Channel has some great high speed video too. Not quiet that slow, but slow enough to see the bullet spinning, etc.

That's just the extra freedom. See how little of it there is?
