I personally saw this work once when I was pheasant hunting with a friend in the middle of no-where Nebraska. His dog bolted off running after a wounded bird and was completely out of site in minutes. We searched until dark with no luck, so he took his t-shirt off and laid it on the ground where we last saw him, then came back the next morning to find the dog laying on it. Crazy, and I probably would not believe it had I not seen the dog run off that night and then at his house the next morning. Maybe worth trying, though. Best of luck!
