That sucks. It is also why we keep our dog leashed, just cant completely trust him to stay close. Live and learn i guess, just sucks its the poor pup who pays the price.

Yeah ... I'm not even talking to him about the leash issue. I know he's devastated and feels like a complete assh*le already. What's worse is this happened while he was hiking with his brother - came home to the wife without the dog... which I'm sure that just makes it harder on him. And they got him just over a year ago.

Heartbreaking/tragic/sad/awful/terrible life (leash) lesson learned.
