Good, Bad, I'm they guy with the gun
I got a little more detail from Stanley's owner, and wanted to share the story with everyone.
As explained in the original post, my friend Ted was hiking the Gibson Lake trail Tuesday, and as they were heading back down Stanley ran ahead (out of sight), and wasn't seen again. Ted hung around for hours looking for him, to no avail. Running out of daylight, and hope, he decided to head back home to Denver. We put together a massive effort online, making the eFlyer I posted yesterday, and just getting word out to as many people in the Grant area as possible (thanks to everyone on here who helped in that effort!!).
On a whim, his wife decided to get up early yesterday to drive back out to Grant to post flyers. I guess she was up there at 6 o'clock getting flyers posted at Hall Valley Campground, and on signs along CR 60. Believe it or not, that's what got Stanley found. Some one called Ted around noon yesterday, saying they were near the campground, saw the flyer and then saw Stanley roaming around (apparently he never wandered far from the trail head). However, they said Stanley wouldn't let him come close enough to corral him.
Ted bolted out of work, drove back out to Hall Valley, and started looking around. He didn't find Stanley at first, so he let his other dog, Walter, off leash (hoping he would sniff Stanley out). Walter bolted into the woods. Within a few minutes he heard Walter barking down by the river. He went to investigate, and found Walter and Stanley playing.
HAPPY ENDING!
