    Default Help with 1911 value

Got offered a 1911 in trade for my shifter kart. Not too sure on what to value this at. Now i know Dan Wesson's are nice pistols, but i have no experience with their custom shop guns. Can anyone give me a ball park figure on the value? Here is his description:

"This is a Dan Wesson Custom shop hand built and fit one of a kind with two complete upper slides one Cary one target with 12 tuned mags McCormick and Willson several holsters"

"Dan Wesson Custom Shop"? The CZ website says they farm out their custom work to private shops.

Also, I'd think a base model would help in determining value.

An external extractor. I'm not sure but I think they haven't used that feature in a little while. Probably an older model. Not sure if that adds or detracts from the value though.

The question is. How long you been sitting on that cart / for sale? What you valuing the cart at? IMO the 45's easier to "cart" around.

Thanks Ray. And good point Jim. I've had the cart for sale for about two months now, but i'm not exactly in a hurry to sell it. I think its worth around $2500. I like the .45, but will only do the deal if its comparable in value

I'd say cash value is around half your asking price on the cart.

The whole extra slide thing makes it difficult to put a value on. Without that I'd say maybe $1200 on the high end. Maybe. Pretty sure brand new ones are about $1500 ish.
