Default Savage accustock - is it worth the extra dough?

Looking at picking up a rifle for elk hunting. I am interested in a Savage 111 FCNS with the accustock. Is the stock worth the extra cost?

Not sure of the cost difference but the accustock is a major improvement over the generic tupperware stock on the cheaper models. Now if you are going to swap out to different 3rd party stock then in makes no sense to pay extra for the accustock.
Lastly you may be able to find an accustock for cheap from someone that has swapped out their stock to a 3rd party stock.

Like Steve said, it is better than the older plastic ones. Figure the cost difference, then look into a Bell & Carlson stock. They are big improvements over the accu-stock.

You want a light and stiff stock for a hunting rifle? Look into the offerings of Greybull rifle stocks. Built by B&C but a nice and light stock perfect for a hunting rig.
