    Default Dove Hunting

Anybody make it out today? I went with a friend on some private property and ended up with a limit... good day, got a little too hot at 1100.

First shot at 0630 this morning. Got 6 by the time had to leave for work. All Eurasian collared.

Hopefully wife has them cooking up now.

headed back to the farm in KS. for the long weekend and will get into them there, and get a load of firewood too, just to make the trip worth while.

My family's farm is far enough east that there aren't many pheasant although the quail numbers are doing better and the turkeys, yeah lots of turkey. We managed to find our share of dove this trip, although the first evening was slow, we made up for it the other 3 evenings when we found "the spot".

If you could send me the info I would love to get out and get some of those pesky bird of the farm. I hunted both south of Hays and north and east of St. Francis last year on walk-in public land and did well. There are some huge Toms out there. I almost got stomped by a big Buck he never saw me until he was about a foot from me as I had my back to a tree and was in full camo when I turned to look at him he noticed me and got very mad that scared him.

Did you just invite yourself to hunt on somebody else land?

Went down to Pueblo SWA Opening day, I felt very constrained people were everywhere and got showered with pellets a few times. I headed down there with my brother on Saturday Sept 5 and ended up shooting 14 all mourning doves. Anybody know any other good places to dove hunt relatively close to springs?
