A simple case of gubment not concerned with fiscal responsibility. Though I'm not sure that they only sell the used guns to other PDs. I've seen lots of police trade ins for sale. I've bought a few myself. I'd be funny to see a guy get issued a twenty year old gun . I know small towns might do it. Still like to see it.
Smaller agencies often just require officers to buy their own, usually from an approved model list.Originally Posted by ben4372
