Default Kalifornia is finally stopping the killing of all elephants killed forty years ago.

I don't seem to know how to attach a link, so I'll just rant and let you all find the info I'm talking about. Kali is continuing to push the limit of stupid. Kalifonia legislation just voted to ban the sale of all ivory. The previous law didn't seem to bring back all the dead elephants, because it allowed the sale of ivory that was forty years old. Now they have fixed it, they are creating a new law that will stop the killing of elephants that were killed forty years ago.

Are these people so f'ing ignorant and self centered that they believe all ivory harvested in the world goes through Kalifornia? They create laws that are stuck on stupid and when that law doesn't do what they thought they would, they go and double down, thinking the world revolves around them. How do you get to be so stupid that you keep putting any democrat back in office, election after election?

I am so concerned about the future of this state based on the license plates I see here in this state. I think these transplants actually believe that they just elected the wrong democrat in there state and now that they're here in Kolorado, they'll elect a better democrat.

Please don't lump us all in the same boat. I moved here to get away from that shit , and when I gets bad enough I'll move again. But I do agree with the rest you said.

There are small strongholds of common sense in CA. Unfortunately like here the flag burning, progressives have a majority for voting. Yet a minority of common sense.

Exactly, I'm not saying everybody, just a majority. I'm only concerned that stupid will spread in large enough numbers to turn elections here.

Those small pockets of common sense are getting exponentially smaller and spaced further and further apart. I left that state 25 years ago and it's considerably worse now than it was then. I can't imagine anyone willfully moving there.... they can have all that insanity to themselves. The eastern half used to be somewhat immune to the mindset of the left side of the state but even that isn't entirely the case anymore.

Others have beat me to it, but California is really no different than Colorado, they just started down the path a lot sooner. It's unfortunate because I love that state sans politics/laws. My goal is to get as close to the eastern Cali border, without being a resident, that way I only have to drive the width of the state to get to the coast, thinking Sparks NV, but still researching.

Have you ever sat down in a room with some children under the age of 12 and asked them to come up with laws?

While a lot of them have what could be considered 'good intentions', they lack worldly knowledge, foresight and a plan for the future. And they more often than not 'legislate' based on their own emotions at any given moment in time.

'1 free cookie after I brush my teeth before bed'. Sounds great, but it's going to fuck up some teeth in the long run.

California's legislation is the result of legislators with items on their resume that don't extend beyond their lives within their already fucked-up paradigm. Much like a child living in a protective bubble that their parents, community and many years of tradition afford them.

With that said, I would like my children and grandchildren to see elephants some day. If they're extinguished because the local populace is living on them, I'll be okay with it. If they're extinguished because of 'ooo, pretty ivory', I'll be a little bummed out.

Game management in Africa is really the key. A hunter should be able to buy a tag on an auction with the proceeds going to game management and take an old bull or a young bull that is disrupting the herd. Let them have the ivory, too. Poaching is the real issue in Africa. And it can be fixed with funds from hunters and proper game management.

If anyone has the time, watch Corey Knowlton talk about the subject of game management in Africa with Joe Rogan. It's fascinating and brings a real solution to the issues there. Truly an awesome interview:

I've been telling people this for a while now... California would be the best place to live in America if there weren't any Californians here.
