Well, I got a couple of new-to-me pistols in the Spring and finally had a chance to try them out (no time to go to the mountains and I'm not a fan of indoor ranges. I'm even less a fan of ranges that don't let me shoot my cheap Russian surplus ammo!)
Anyway, the S&W Shield 9 (which I purchased from a member here!) worked flawlessly, only quibble is that the 8 round extended mag I purchased at Cabelas seemed hard to load that last round. Maybe the spring was just new and stiff, I dunno, but once loaded it worked great and is a great shooter.
The FEG-35 (Hungarian Hi Power) that I got off of Gunbroker - yeah, not so much. Could not get it to reliably feed 2 rounds at a time. The gun would shoot fine once I got a round chambered but man, it did NOT want to chamber. I don't know if the feed lips of the mag were bent and it was holding the round too tight or what, but there's something really wrong there. With any semi-auto pistol I always suspect the magazine first since it's the cheapest part (and the easiest to swap out) but is there anything else I should be looking at?
