Default Any wireless camera suggestions to use as baby monitor?

I went out this weekend to get some stuff for the baby room. I decided i would try the wireless camera approach instead of a baby monitor so I can use it after we have no need for a baby monitor. Based on reviews I picked up the Withings Home (http://www2.withings.com/us/en/products/home/). The reviews lied. It is the biggest piece of ive ever spent $200 on. So when I take it back id like to get something that 1. Works and 2. Would work well as a baby monitor.

Do any of you have any of the common cameras out there that you would suggest? ie... Nest, Drop cam, Canary....
My EDC: Handcuffs, Bandana, and Ball Gag.

If I'm ever at a party and the cops come to arrest people. Ill blindfold myself, throw the ball gag in, handcuff my hands, and hide in a closet. Police never arrest hostages!

To be honest, I don't think it's a good idea to expect to use the cameras after they are done with their "baby monitor" role. Camera tech is advancing so quickly that even the best camera system of today will be basically obsolete in 5 years and you won't be able to give it away (if it still works). On top of that, camera and system prices have been steadily dropping for the last 10 years and will continue to do so.

I use this for a baby monitor:

I bought it 2 years ago and I have a camera in each of my kids' rooms. It works just perfectly for less than the price of a single high-quality security camera.

Just an opinion. Take it or leave it.
