    Default Older car question.

Is this anything interesting? it's in the garage of the house we're making an offer on and their realtor said they may want to leave it. Not sure if he spoke with them or not. ;-)

I have no interest in it but I'd like to know if it has some actual or trade value or if it's something I should make sure they take with them.

The rear end looks like a 1958 Corvette..... Do you have a picture of the front ?
But the radiator does not look original.
If you get a clear title, let them leave it.

Those look early to mid 60's, still old s-kool. Unless you are going for an original restoration, those would fit in with a 60's upgrade.

And a dual quad was an option on the 1958 Vette.

Is that an Offy 2x2 or 2x4 manifold?! Is there a drivetrain? How complete? I'd love a small sporty project but have too many projects in the yard.

I'll get more pics next time we go back and I'll ask the current owner what it is and if it has title. If he's willing to leave it or sell it for a small amount I'll post the details. I don't really have any interest in it but if someone here wants it I'd make sure they get a good deal or free depending on what' it's actually worth.

Dual carbs and a distributor. Lead free electrons will corrode the floats and cause issues with the Lockheed brakes.

Looks like a fiberglass kit car. Small block Pontiac for power which is an interesting choice, but we need more info. Definitely not a Cobra.

This is the correct answer. It screams Kit Car, from the trunk to instrument panel. Even sporting old Montgomery Ward skins.

First that is not a Pontiac. Pontiac's only have one block. That is a ford Y-block, look at the 2 bolt valve covers and where the oil filter is. Most likely a 292 or 312 as the 239 and 256 are not common and I think the manifold only fits those two. And a very logical choice if it was a Pontiac as they were a very popular swap into corvettes. Weighing less than 100 lbs more and going from 283 to 389 CID was the way to go in the late 50's. Click image for larger version.
