Martin Milner, aka Officer Pete Malloy of Adam-12 fame, died today at 83. I grew up watching Adam-12 and remember his character fondly. Time to "see the Man", Martin.

I saw this on FB. Adam-12 was one of my favorite shows when I was growing up...and I seem to recall he was in Emergency! as well.

Saw that in the news. I grew up on those shows. Dragnet, Adam-12, Emergency!. I thought the cross-overs where Reed and Malloy would show up in an episode of Emergency! were a hoot. The guest stars that became big names in Hollywood were a kick. Same thing for the guests on Star Trek.
Dragnet and Adam-12 with their represented values would probably be deemed 'preachy' in today's world.
RIP Martin Milner.

I wish technology solved people issues. It seems to just reveal them.

Adam 12 was the reason I wanted to become a police officer. That and SWAT! I recently saw some of the old shows I watched as a kid; SWAT, Police Woman, Starsky and Hutch, The Recruits (all cop shows) and while they would be considered cheeky now, they really influenced me.

That is Honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it.
