I don't know how you can sleep at night with those sort of images in your head.

My "EDC" is pretty lightweight compared to most of you guys:

Keyring with only car key and house key on it
Wallet which contains 1 debit card, 1 credit card, CO DL, and a little cash (That's it)
*G26 in either a Crossbreed Supertuck or an Aliengear Tuck 2.0
    Leatherman Skeletool
    *Phone
*Recently added to my "EDC": Baseball cap. Great for keeping the sun off your face/neck and out of your eyes.

Items with * mean that I cannot take them to work, so they are only "EDC" items on weekends or when I'm not on shift.

I usually have a bunch of stuff in my vehicle to augment:
    Couple of mags
    trackfone and charger
    FT-60r
    poncho (woodland camo FTW)
    parachord x 100ft
    BlackDiamond headlamp
cheap Fenix flashlight with extra batteries
    extensive medical kit
extra clothes for all weather including extra socks
    extra pair of steel-toe boots
small homemade survival kit including firestarting, water purification, and a bunch of other survival stuff inside
    small fire estinguisher
    trash bags
    maps
    work gloves
    duct tape
    4 mil plastic sheeting
    and more

You know, I believe there was a thread from several years ago about EDC...in the pictures section possibly.
